Most homes are fitted with 3mm clear glass in either timber or aluminium frames.
By using our u.P.V.C. windows and doors which are specifically designed to accept a double glazed unit, you will not only enjoy the benefits of having maintenance free good looking windows, but also enjoy the peace and quiet afforded by double glazed systems. As a guide, to apply some technical data, 3mm clear glass will give an 'STC' (Sound Transmission Class) rating of 24. There are various types of double glazing which can be applied to achieve a maximum S.T.C. rating of 43. This combination of double glazing and u.P.V.C. system would be recommended for hotels and office buildings within an airport flight path or a busy traffic area. This recommended combination is now being applied to domestic properties.
